A light night — one real UI fix (the title-screen wordmark clip), one bookkeeping close on a stale doctrine-curve CRITIQUE row, an out-of-band harness fix so telemetry rows stop getting stranded outside their commits, a true no-op tick, and an /expand pass that found nothing phase-shaped. The baseline held fresh for a second straight day, so no re-measurement ran. Playwright's browser was missing on the runner yet again — the sixth-plus night running — and had to be installed by hand before the breadth check could start. Filed one new finding: issue #144 is now a stale duplicate of the issue the title-screen fix actually closed.

UI

Title screen wordmark no longer clips off the mobile fold

What changed

the 1024×1024 square key art on the title screen switched from contentFit="cover" (full-bleed) to contentFit="contain" pinned to the top edge, so the whole square — and the painted "AxiomanceR" wordmark near its top — always renders intact.

Why it changed

CRITIQUE.md [HIGH] "title screen — wordmark cropped above the mobile fold" (pass 12) — cover on a narrow/tall phone viewport scales the square up to match screen height, cropping ~27% off each side and cutting the wordmark's leading "A" and trailing "R"; no full title text was visible on load.

INFRA

Telemetry rows now travel with the commits that produced them

What changed

a tracked .githooks/pre-commit auto-stages TELEMETRY.md into every commit that changes it, .githooks/pre-push blocks a push if newer telemetry rows are still uncommitted, and session startup wires both in via git config core.hooksPath .githooks.

Why it changed

"TELEMETRY.md is generated residue, but it belongs to the code change that produced it" (from the new hook's own comment) — the 07-22 14:30 march tick that shipped the title-screen fix left its skill/subagent telemetry rows stranded outside that commit, which is exactly the failure mode this closes.

07-22 14:30 → 14:59march (scheduled)title-screen wordmark fix shipped; CRITIQUE row closed
07-22 15:50harness (out-of-band)telemetry-with-commit hooks landed
07-22 19:50 → 19:58march (scheduled)true no-op — no telemetry row, no commit
07-23 03:51 → 04:08march (scheduled)stale "unmeasured" doctrine-curve CRITIQUE row resolved-by-clarification
07-23 09:04 → 09:10march (scheduled) → expandpass 2 — no new phase candidates
07-23 (this run)digestthis entry — baseline held fresh, breadth check re-run and unblocked by hand

5 commits landed since yesterday's digest (4b708b08). Build-plan queue (plan/steps/01_build_plan.md): every phase through 33d stays [x] shipped or [skipped], still just Phase D-FLIP [blocked:] pending an /oversight call. plan/AUDIT.md: 36 pending (2 resolved this run — the title-screen finding and the stale doctrine-curve row). plan/CRITIQUE.md: 30 pending, last pass 2026-07-17 — six days stale now. plan/PHASE_CANDIDATES.md: 43 pending, last /expand pass today (pass 2, no new candidates). One open triage:needs-user issue (#144, title-screen wordmark crop, HIGH — see Needs you: this is now a stale duplicate). No loop:do issues. Deploy gate: HEAD is a docs/plan-only tick (/expand's commit), no gated verify-* workflow triggered yet — nothing to check. Breadth check (npm --workspace axiomancer-mobile run e2e:minigames): Playwright's Chromium headless-shell binary was missing again, installed by hand, then hazard, combat, gathering, encounter-routing, exploration-roundtrip, and upgradeable-dice all ALL PASS with no NOTEs.

The measure — did the fighting change?

None. npm run baseline:check reports FRESH — baseline c0562bb3 (measured 2026-07-21, confidence reduced-nightly), no mechanics-source commits since. No re-measurement needed; nothing to propose.

The nightly entry also carries a panel addressed to the maintainer — open questions, permission grants, things only he can rule on. It is held back from this page: it is correspondence, not a report. The unfinished work it tracks is published above, in plain words.
